Regrettably, Jack, my "best buddy", had to be put down on Dec. 27, 2006. He was suffering from degenerative myelopathy and degenerative neuropathy. Both diseases gradually paralyze the sufferer.

I miss Jack more than can ever be expressed in words. We were together 24/7 for 11 years with only very brief times apart.

The newest addition to our security team. Max was born on August 4, 2008.

As with all our animals, we adopted him from a rescue organization. In this case the Golden Retriever Rescue association in Toronto on July 31, 2009. The poor guy went through 4 homes (now including ours) in a 4 week period.

As he's still a puppy, he's a long legged goofy dog that makes us laugh continuously. He's extremely intelligent and is a terrific addition to our family.
